Dr David Alfi, oral surgeon and master of orthognathic double jaw surgery. Dr Alfi is really unique because he uses custom surgical plans so he can do a double jaw surgery in the same time it would take for a crown, 1 to 1.5 hours! Typical jaw surgery is closer to 8 hours! The other thing that makes Dr David Alfi unique is that his patients experience less pain and swelling than typical MMA surgery, pain level at 2-3 compared to severe with most jaw surgeries! People can do virtual consults with him and fly down to Houston for surgery. Some people have such small bone structure or impaired airways it is their best chance to immediately open the airway because you reposition both jaw bones forward. Not only does he focus on the airway but he gets insane cosmetic results. They literally look like different people.

Why would someone consider jaw surgery? Underbite, overbite, retrognathia, jaw bone deformities, small airways, patients who wonder if plastic surgery or jaw surgery will give them the best results, severe TMJ pain or possible joint replacement, flat midface (cheeks are not ahead of the forehead when looking at profile), TMJ arthritis, not sure if adult palate expansion or jaw surgery is the best option, nose appears big or has a big bump or "too big for the face", boney facial asymmetry. "Most of the time it's a bad airway and a bad bite. When we address the airway, the TMJ improves."

If you want a second opinion on MMA orthognathic jaw surgery or if you should do adult palate expansion or surgery, contact Dr David Alfi's office. https://www.alfioralsurgery.com/oral-surgery-procedures/orthognathic-jaw-surgery-houston-tx/ He is in Houston, Texas at Alfi Oral Surgery.
