Today Megan Van Noy and Kimi Nishimoto talk about our favorite lip tape also known as mouth tape. The premise is simple: humans are only meant to breathe with the nose and when the jaw falls back and relaxes in our sleep, or the mouth opens and we breathe with the mouth, the airway collapses. For nasal issues check our our podcast about decongesting the nose from a previous podcast, you must be a good nose breather to start lip taping. Taping the lips together in sleep has helped us both with: snoring, drooling, sleep apnea, clenching, grinding, sore TMJ muscles, headaches, restless sleep and moving. The top favorites were: SleepYstrip by Dr Dan Hanson (available on amazon prime https://www.amazon.com.au/SleepYstrip-Functional-Improve-Breathing-Increase/dp/B07VZVH9G7 , or for international www.sleepystrip.com); Buteyko clinic Snoreless strips by Patrick McKeown (https://www.amazon.com/Snorless-Strips-Buteyko-Breathing-Method/dp/B01IM5RV7O ) 3m micropore medical tape (https://www.amazon.com ) For kids and intro to taping Patrick McKeown MYOtape (https://buteykoclinic.com/myotape/

We were not big fans of: nexcare sensitive (not sticky enough), bandaids, medipore, somnifix. You find what works for you and whats in your budget but a good budget friendly tape is 3m micropore or Snoreless, the Cadillac of lip tape is SleepYstrip.
