Pop Radio UK with my early musical influences.  As a kid growing up in Cleveland, New York, our big 2 rock station being WOUR out of Utica, New York, taught me about playing DEEP CUTS… and WAQX out of Syracuse.  WAQX had to me an incredibly unique LOCAL music show called “Soudcheck with Dave Fresina”.  It was here that my “taste and style” of music was fertilized.  I heard many a great sounding LOCAL unsigned, indie band and I knew…I heard a sound, tone that had been reverberating about my head for years.  I was lucky enough, that when I went to college, I ran into a drummer named Scott Donahue.  My friend Scott, was BIG into the local music scene, playing drums in many various bands and always going out to see and support the local music scene.  I asked him, “What happened to The Flashcubes?”  He said, “Come out Tuesday night to the Lost Horizon and find out!”   So, I did!  I was surprised to see Gary Frenay, Artie Lenin, and Tommy Allen… The Flashcubes MINUS One.  The sound similar, yet surprisingly different.  They had reinvented themselves and kept their wonderful sound happening.  It was here that I met Kevin Hackenforth. In my opinion one of the top FIVE LIVE sound guys to ever work the Salt City.  He taught me how and what to listen to and for and how to correct things if the sound started going south.  Kevin recruited me to haul gear and my ROADIE Days started.  More on that in another session in the future!   Next week another hour-long peek into my musical influences!  Who, just who might it be?  Remember, for me, a kid growing up on the North Shore of Oneida Lake, I always wanted to visit Miami, hear a real Tearjerker while also listening to Pop Tarts Trend; but a Machine & Hummer always seemed to count me in 1.4.5…and The Agents kept me hitting up for the Dress Code while giving me The Works…then it would be for me a Porcelain Forehead!, The Cause…The Natives.   Give A Listen!  Like, Download, Comment, Share, Repeat.  Lame-stream radio...Variety...I do not think they TRULY know the meaning of the word!  That’s why I do what I do here...Radio Candy Radio!  The Music Authority LIVE STREAM Show & Podcast bringing Power Pop, Rock, Soul, Rhythm & Blues to anyone and everyone who wants to expand their rock and roll radio knowledge!  Shows NOW on Listen Notes, Google Podcast Manager, Mixcloud, PlayerFM, Stitcher, Tune In, Podcast Addict, Cast Box, Radio Public, Pocket Cast, Apple iTunes Podcasts!!  Please!
