September 22, 2023 Friday Hour 5 - a podcast by Jim Prell

My brother has been gone from this earth for, what, eleven years now.  Earlier today, out on the Honey-Do list run…I’m cashing out at Walmart.  I see out of the corner of my eye one of those little rascal scooters rolling up to where I am in line and slowing down.  Just as I pay and ready my cart to exit, the scooter slows to a crawl going by me, the man on the cart looks me right in the eyes.  Staring back at me was the face of my older brother!  Same blue eyes, same beard, his clothing style, he then proceeds to make a funny face at me like Mike used to do.  The woman at the register asked me if I was OK, she said I went white like I had just seen a ghost.  As she was speaking, this familiar looking stranger picked up speed on his scooter and was headed to the door.  I was about five steps behind…I watched him get out of the scooter and walk out.  Again, I was about FIVE steps behind.  When I got out the door he was GONE!  Maybe a car was waiting for him at the door…or maybe not!  Goosebumps even relating this!  And how was your day?
