“Swamp Rats, Caterpillars, Voters & Slots"

🐔 This week Wife Elsie is on the Think Away Diet Plan, even though we still have to take the monthly jaunt to stock up on food supplies. It always involves a box trailer, heavy lifting, heavy loads and serious backaches whichever way you look at it. We also bring you this week’s “Elsie’s Cooking Cock-up” Elsie’s Torched Tart Surprise!

There’s serious drama as Old Nan in a fit of Flush Rush versus a High Card Flush - has flown the Old Crow’s Nest to take a limo down to Tampa on a casino bender of free food, plenty of cash and 5,000 slot machines! Ned’s happy as he’s made sure his credit cards are safe!

Even though Old Nan’s not around, the irritable, miserable looking Chuck-will’s-widow is a perfect replacement and a companion for Elsie – sitting around on its perch, moaning every night the same repetitive sounds, annoying everyone in range. Mmm... they could almost be twins!

Our two quirky book reviews this week pack a real punch with a happy ending in the second one. Find out if they even make it to the bookshelf, compost heap or just get burned!

Other regular segments include Ned’s Cliché of The Day and Ding Dang’s Southern Quotes, Anomalies from Around the World and we’re treated to the usual weird and wacky comments and questions from listeners in Ned’s Agony segment - not forgetting we visit again with Nan’s “good ‘ole days” in her segment “Nan Remembers” when Nan’s mom, gets mice and lice mixed up.

Ned has terrible nightmares about monstrous caterpillars eating his lovely cabbages and is so concerned he’s abandoned the Zen Room and according to Elsie, taken to “spraying every night”.

Ned visits with his neighbors Young Alice and political pundit Rush “to the Restroom” as he delivers “Rush’s Tennessee Teasers” from his ranch next door - Stonewall Jackson Farm. Old Blind Lonnie is back home to Rabbit Stew.

Ned’s agent Fifty Per-cent has another shady but very funny ad about a Green Washing P.R. Company - Oh-dear!

Yessiree - it’s still the usual mischief and mayhem all around and down on, the farm.
