Atletico have hit a properly dodgy run of form, with just 1 win in their last 4 games, highlighted by their 2-0 defeat to Levante at the weekend. They scraped through the group stage, winning just two games in Group A.   Their opponents Chelsea have won 5 of 7 since Thomas Tuchel arrived at the Bridge but he’s yet to settle on a favoured first XI. This is demonstrated by Chelsea’s last 9 goals being scored by 7 different players. The Blues breezed past the Group Stage, untested by the likes of Krasnodar and underperforming Rennes. They could be facing Atleti at just the right time.  The second game on Tuesday is between Lazio and Bayern in Rome. The Italians are in form, winning 4 of 5 in the league. They’re unbeaten in Europe this season, with 4 draws in a tough group that included following Last-16 side Borussia Dortmund.  Their opponents, Bayern – the cup holders – enter the game on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt and a 3-3 draw with Arminia Bielefeld. They rarely fail to win successive game and typically bounce back from these mini-spells with a huge win. Both our tipsters fancy the Bavarians in this first-leg clash.  Into Wednesday, and injury-hit Real Madrid head to Bergamo to play Atalanta. The Italians are favourites for this game due to the significant list of players Real will be without in midweek. The hosts have suffered defeat in just 1 of their last 20 games in all comps but aren’t particularly strong at home in the UCL with 2 wins from 8. Real have won their last 3 without conceding but this could be a tough one for Los Blancos.  The final game this week sees Manchester City head to Germany to take on the 8th best team in the Bundesliga, Borussia Monchengladbach. Pep Guardiola’s side look imperious right now, winning 18 games in a row, and no losses since September (that was ages ago). Gladbach did brilliantly to make it out of the Group of Death in one piece, but they certainly haven’t been rewarded for their efforts with this draw against the soon-to-be Premier League champions.  Our resident host Eduardo Siles is on holiday for the next week. He’s replaced by Tom Beck to preview all the best action across Europe.  Alvaro Romeo and Daniele Fisichella are our experts in football and betting, they’re here each and every week to preview, discuss, analyse and dissect every fixture of this season’s Champions League.
