We start on Friday, as Werder Bremen take on Eintracht Frankfurt. The visitors are in blistering form with 5 wins in a row, and 9 wins in their last 10 games. They’ve scored at least 2 goals in all of these games. Should be a great one to kick off the weekend.

Saturday’s action begins with the defending champions Bayern at home to Cologne. The Bavarians’ lead at the top has been reduced to just 2 points following their mini drop in form against Arminia Bielefeld and Frankfurt. They haven’t failed to win 3 successive league games since 2018.

Dortmund’s form has been a little iffy in recent weeks, but they looked back to their best with convincing performances over rivals Schalke and the much-fancied Sevilla in the Champions League in mid-week. They take on Bielefeld, currently sitting 16th in the relegation play-off position. Schalke have run out of time in their battle to avoid the drop. They play Stuttgart away from home on Saturday, a side that have taken 7 points from their last 4 games, steadying the ship.

Hertha’s form is a huge concern, with just 1 win in 12 and 5 points from a possible 36. That’s definitely relegation form. This weekend they take on 3rd place Wolfsburg, who have earned 5 wins in their last 6 games.  RB Leipzig know they must keep picking up maximum points if their title challenge is going to stand the test of time. They host out-of-shape Gladbach this week at the RB Arena.

Into Sunday, and it’s Union Berlin against Hoffenheim. The capital side returned to winning ways last week after 5 games without a win, meanwhile, Hoffenheim were beating Bremen 4-0. It should be a good game in Berlin!

Mainz are giving their survival bid a proper good go, with 3 wins and a draw from their last 5 games they’re now just 1 point from escaping the danger zone. Augsburg are the visitors for them this weekend, a side with no wins in 4 games.

In the final game of Matchday 23, Bayer Leverkusen host Freiburg. The hosts are in Europa League action on Thursday night as they look to overcome a 4-3 deficit against Young Boys. Freiburg, on the other hand, look stuck in no-man’s-land in 9th place in the standings.
