As always in the Bundesliga, our weekend preview starts on a Friday. It’s a match between two teams at either end of the table. Arminia Bielefeld moved away from danger with just their second win of the season last weekend, their opponents RB Leipzig drew with Eintracht to break a six-game winning streak.  Saturday’s action starts with the league leaders Bayern Munich at home to Stuttgart. The Bavarians continue to bulldoze all their Bundesliga rivals but will have to overcome the midweek challenge of Lazio in the Champions League.  Frankfurt will be at home to Union Berlin in the next game, they’ve drawn their last two league games and lost the one prior. They’ll be keen to get back to winning ways when Union visit, in order to maintain their UCL qualification hopes.  Cologne face an uphill task when Borussia Dortmund come calling. Erling Haaland & Co. have looked in top form in recent weeks domestically and in Europe and are now 5th in the standings. Koln are just 1 point from the drop.  Wolfsburg are looking very well placed to secure Champions League for next season after thrashing Schalke 5-0 last time out. This weekend they face Werder Bremen, a side with just three home wins all season.   Gladbach have lost six games in a row, it could be seven before you read this (you’re never going to read this anyway…) as they face Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday. Surely they’ll end that run against Schalke.  Sunday early afternoon sees Mainz continue their fight for salvation when they make the journey to the village of Hoffenheim. Mainz have experienced defeat just once in their last 6 games in the league, Hoffenheim have won 3 of last 4.   Hertha Berlin are in serious trouble. We’ve been saying that for a couple of weeks now but at this point they actually are. They sit 16th on the ladder after their 2-0 defeat to Dortmund. They’ve got to get something when they host Bayer Leverkusen or the alarm bells will be ringing loudly in the capital.   The final game on Matchday 26 sees Frieburg host Augsburg. The visitors arrive full of confidence after beating Gladbach last time out and now sit eight points above the drop zone. Hosts Freiburg, meanwhile, have won just once in their last five games.   Eduardo is in charge of proceedings again this week.
