The Bundesliga returns for Week 8 action following a busy midweek for many German players featuring in international competition across European. Many of whom played in their country’s 6-0 capitulation against Spain, suffering the nation’s biggest defeat in their history of competitive fixtures. Ouch. Now back to the main event: Bundesliga.  

German and European champions Bayern Munich kick-start our feast of German top-flight action this weekend when they host Werder Bremen on Saturday at the Allianz Arena. The Bavarians have steamrolled every opponent they’ve faced since their humiliating 4-1 defeat to Hoffenheim earlier in the campaign.   

Fellow title contenders RB Leipzig head to Frankfurt on Saturday afternoon to take on misfiring Eintracht, currently 11th in the standings. Julien Nagelsmann’s side have done well to bounce back from their Man Utd mauling (and Gladbach loss) to remain in second spot in the table, just a point off the leaders.  

Dortmund head to the capital in search of maximum points on Saturday evening, as they face an inconsistent Hertha Berlin side whom are yet to find their feet this campaign. Hertha have taken just seven points from their seven games and sit in 12th position. BVB, meanwhile, are third in the table following their Klassiker defeat last time out.
