Odds On: Bundesliga Predictions - Matchday 17 - Football Match Tips, Bets & Odds - a podcast by Oddspedia

This is an audio version of our YouTube video. It’s the halfway point of the season! Matchday 17 is split across Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday kicks off with a nice game between Borussia Monchengladbach and Werder Bremen. The hosts are now only a point off the European spots, whilst their opponents are down in 12th. Things are looking up, though, with only one defeat in their last five.  Following is a cracker between Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund. Leverkusen have completely lost their form, and their title challenge is effectively out the window with three defeats and a draw in their last four games. These two teams are now level on points, but Dortmund are clear favourites for this one.  Next, Hertha host Hoffenheim. The Berlin club have just one victory in their last six and are in need of a reaction if they are going to avoid slipping further down the table. Hoffenheim, meanwhile, sit just one place below them in the table having gone four games without a win.   Wolfsburg travel to second-bottom Mainz in the last game on Tuesday. The strugglers drew 1-1 with Dortmund last time out but are still five points from safety. Wolfsburg, on the other hand, are up in 6th having only fallen to defeat twice in the 2020/21 Bundesliga season.  Wednesday starts with a decisive game for Schalke in their bid for survival, as they take on Cologne at home. They remain 18th with just seven points secured. This is a must-win game against a direct relegation rival, who themselves, have failed to win any of their last five matches.  Arminia Bielefeld are building a decent gap to the bottom three after taking four points from their last two games with a draw against Hoffenheim and a win over Hertha. This week they take on Stuttgart. The visitors are better on the road and are favourites for this one on the back of a 2-2 draw with Gladbach in their last league game.  Table toppers Bayern are huge favourites for their trip to play Augsburg. The defending champions have a four-point gap to nearest challengers RB Leipzig, even in spite of their shaky recent form. Star striker Robert Lewandowski keeps producing the goods. He scored a record 21 goals in the first half of the season. Wow.   In the other two games in Matchday 17, Freiburg will be looking to return to winning ways when they host Eintracht Frankfurt (and returning superstar Luka Jovic). The final fixture sees title hopefuls RB Leipzig at home to Union Berlin. The capital’s second side are enjoying a magnificent season.
