Italy qualified in top spot from Group A taking 9 points from their 3 games.  The Euro 2020 campaign got off to the ideal start with a 3-0 win over dark horses Turkey settling any fears and mounting their charge up the bookies’ favourites to be amongst the favourites.  The Azzurri continued that impressive performance with another 3-0 win over Switzerland, meaning they all-but had the group top spot sewn up. They completed their triumph with a simple but solid victory over Wales, meaning they enter the knockout stage of the Euros without having even conceded a goal. Manager Roberto Mancini has also caught some of the limelight with his dashing good looks and his coaching team’s grey suits.  Italian football is back, baby!

 

The 4-time world champions take on Australia beside that finish second in Group C. It's been a topsy-turvy campaign for the Austrians winning the opening clash against North Macedonia 3-1,  losing to group winners Netherlands 2-0 and then finally scraping past outsiders Ukraine with a narrow 1-0 victory to earn their place in the knockout stage in second spot. Austria are led by David Alaba at the back, however he actually plays basically all across midfield and defence and sometimes in attack because he's such an important figure for the national team. It's certainly not a vintage crop of Austrian international footballers but they probably do deserve their spots in the last 16 of the competition.
