So, Sweden have reached the Round of 16, which is quite an achievement seeing as they are playing without their experienced leader Zlatan Ibrahimovic. And do you know what? They haven’t really missed him that much. They’ve got a new kid on the block leading the line up-front and his name is Alexander Isak. The Swedes finished in top spot in Group E in a fairly uninspired and drab quartet, with the likes of Poland and Slovakia not really offering a great deal - and Spain off the pace - the Scandinavians in yellow took full advantage and stole the show to top the table and earn themselves a knockout clash with third-placed finisher Ukraine.

Speaking of Ukraine, from the pre-tournaments discussions big things were expected of these guys. And we suppose they haven’t really let us down for entertainment; they clawed back a two-goal deficit to level the game against the Netherlands (before eventually losing) and then they beat North Macedonia by two goals to one. But they really let themselves down in their final encounter, as they suffered a loss to Austria - a side who have failed to impress many during their three games so far at the European Championships. This is a really tough game to call - probably the hardest of all the round of 16 clashes - but that’s what makes it even more fascinating and one we will definitely be taking a detailed look at beforehand and during.
