This is an audio version of our YouTube video. This is our Euro 2020 (2021) betting preview for Group A & Group B’s Matchday 1 fixtures. The first match of European Championships 2020 will take place in the Italian capital Rome, as Italy host Turkey. Both of these nations are expected to qualify for the next round of the competition. Italy are the favourites to qualify from Group A, with the odds suggesting they’re most likely to qualify as group winners.  However, don't rule out Turkey’s strength owing to their squad brimming full of talent and hugely impressive spine.

The other two sides in Group A are Wales and Switzerland. Neither are expected to make much headway throughout the tournaments and perhaps will be left to settle for a solid performance and qualify for the next stage of the competition as one of the best 3rd place finishers. Wales’ squad is not as good as it was in 2018, with the likes of Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey now no longer the players they once were. Switzerland, meanwhile, lack a prolific number nine to offer them the firepower going forward.

Let's take a look at Group B now, starting with the uninspired clash between Denmark and Finland. Denmark’s squad is actually quite underrated and they probably could run Belgium close to topping Group B. Their campaign can get off to the best start when they take on Finland, who won't score many despite having the championship’s second-top goal scorer Teemu Pukki.

Also in action on Saturday is Euro 2020’s third-favourite to win the competition, Belgium.  Roberto Martinez’s Red Devils have talent throughout their roster, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku leading the line, Kevin de Bruyne supplying the assists and Real Madrid's star stopper Thibaut Courtois between the sticks. Their defenders are getting on a bit and this is probably the final chance for Belgium’s golden generation to pick up silverware at a major tournament.

They begin their campaign against Russia, a nation that play old fashioned, old school, route one football, punting it forward to their attackers and looking for any scraps on the edge of the box. Don't expect it to be pretty but do expect it to be effective against the likes of Finland later on in the tournament.
