Wales qualified from Group A, after overcoming the pre-tournament dark horses Turkey.  the Turks were expected to go deep into the tournament however they crashed out in the group stage. But this disappointment was only a positive for the Welsh Dragons as they made it through to the knockout stage of an international tournament for the second Euros running. With the likes of Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey in the starting 11, Robert Page’s side have the the talent, experience and creativity to do real damage against Denmark in the first Round of 16 fixture. It's certainly going to be a very fascinating encounter.

 

For the Danes, they had to overcome some early tournament scares on the field before mounting a comeback, both emotionally and physically.  They will of course be without their talisman Christian Eriksen after he suffered a cardiac arrest in Denmark's first game of the euros against Finland. Thankfully, the Inter Milan midfielder appears to be well, with fans across the continent allowing themselves a sigh of relief.  Whatever happens in the remainder of the competition, Denmark have performed bravely and admirably throughout and each and every one of the players will be proud of their showing. Their performance against Russia in order to qualify was outstanding and perhaps they can take that energy into the remainder of their games?
