This is an audio version of our YouTube video. La Liga betting tips and predictions for the 2021/22 season from Oddspedia. We’ve got the best betting picks and insight ahead of the new La Liga season, starting with Matchday 1 in Spain.

We start our La Liga betting preview of 2021/22 with a decent game as Valencia take on Getafe at the Mestalla.  this game looks finely balanced but the hosts are marginal favourites in the curtain raiser for the Liga season on Friday night.

Espanol are back in Spain's top-flight after achieving promotion from the Segunda following a 1-year absence. Their pre-season has not been very good and their first encounter in the Primera Division will be against Osasuna. Both Cadiz and Levante will be happy to repeat last year's performances as Cadiz remained in the division following a great debut year, and Levante performed well in the first half of the season which kept them afloat. They meet on Matchday One.

Another famous Spanish side returning to the top-flight are Mallorca. They begin their new venture against Real Betis. This will be an interesting campaign for the Andalusians, with them in their second year under Manuel Pellegrini. Real Madrid are the favourites for La Liga title in 21/22, it will also be Carlo Ancelotti’s spell in charge of Los Blancos. Without Lionel Messi in the division, it's up to them to take the title tilt to their nearest city rivals Atletico.

Current champions Atletico Madrid have been handed a tricky start to the new season as they travel north to Galicia to take on Celta Vigo, who are expected to perform much better than they did last year. Barcelona have obviously lost their talisman Lionel Messi but they've also lost Sergio Aguero owing to injury. They’ve brought in Memphis Depay and a couple of new faces, however, they may not actually be able to feature due to an ongoing issue with finances and registration between Barcelona and La Liga.

Sevilla welcome back Rayo Vallecano to La Liga after a couple of seasons away. The posh club from Andalusia had a strong campaign last year after qualifying for the Champions League and will want to push on from here. The penultimate match of our La Liga betting preview sees Europa League holders Villarreal host Granada. This is Unai Emery’s second season in charge of the Yellow Submarine and it will be interesting to see how they contend with (once again) playing on both the continental and domestic fronts.

Our final game in our La Liga betting preview is Elche against Athletic Bilbao. The away opponents had a pretty horrible campaign last season after losing twe Copa del Rey finals in a space of about 2 weeks, but manager Marcelino has had a full summer now to focus on the new project, so it will be up to him to make improvements and positive changes to the squad.
