Odds On: La Liga – another week, another show. We’re here to preview Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and every La Liga side’s fixtures this weekend on Matchday 10 of the 2020/21 campaign.   

We’ve got some enthralling action to preview and discuss across two days of action in the Primera Division, with plenty of narrative, sub-plots and intrigue to look out for across the weekend’s action. After a busy (and successful, for some) week of international commitments, let’s take a look what the fixture list has thrown up for us.  The headline news on Matchday 10 is that two of the league’s biggest sides meet in the Spanish capital. Atletico Madrid play host to Barcelona at the Wanda Metropolitano, with Diego Simeone’s side keen to extend their unbeaten start to the season to eight games. Los Rojiblancos currently sit third in the standings, with Barca trailing down in eighth spot.  Ronald Koeman’s side have already dropped points in four of their seven games in La Liga so far in 2020/21. Could this be another painful defeat when they face an Atleti side who have conceded just two goals? Fortunately for the Blaugrana, they will not come face-to-face with former hero Luis Suarez after the Uruguayan tested positive for Covid whilst on international duty.

Elsewhere, league leaders Real Sociedad travel south to play surprise form side Cadiz. The side promoted from the Segunda last year have had a strong start to the season and sit in 6th spot, just one place outside European qualification. Sociedad have looked great, scoring 20 goals in 9 games and conceding on just four occasions.  Villarreal have also looked fantastic in the first quarter of the campaign. They’re in second place. But will they still be there by the end of Saturday afternoon after they welcome champions Real Madrid to the Ceramica? Real have been hunting down top spot since their slow start, but have suffered two defeats in their last four; to Cadiz and to Valencia last time out.   Eduaro Siles is back on La Liga presenting duties – stop cheering back there – and this week he’s joined by Spanish football Alvaro Romeo to discuss all things Spanish football. They’re getting so competitive with their tips it’s like having Cristiano and Messi back together. They’re here to analyse, preview and dissect La Liga’s Matchday 10 action.
