The action starts on Friday in Valencia, as Levante host Athletic Bilbao. This should be a tight game. Four of Athletic Club’s last five games have finished 1-1, whilst Levante beat leaders Atletico last week. A good Friday night watch.  Saturday’s action kicks off in the Basque Country with Eibar taking on Huesca. Huesca, bottom of the table, have given themselves real hope for survival with two wins from their last four. Eibar have the worst home record in the division.

From the bottom to the top now, as Sevilla welcome Barcelona. The Andalusian side have 6 wins in a row in La Liga, five without conceding. Barca are also in electric form with 8 wins from 10, they’re 14 unbeaten league games.  Alaves and Osasuna meet in a region derby in the north. The hosts have 6 defeats from their last 10 games, and the visitors Osasuna have just 1 away win in their last 11 games. Cards could be an option in this game?

Getafe are on a horrible run of from – they’ve lost four games in a row and haven’t scored in five games! They’re now 10th and could be dragged into the relegation scrap. Valencia moved away from trouble with a 2-0 win last weekend.  Sunday starts with Celta Vigo hosting Real Valladolid. The Galician side were unlucky to concede two stoppage-time goals in a 2-0 defeat last weekend, whilst Valladolid are totally out of form, and losing to the sides around them; a bad mix.

Real Betis look favourites to pour further misery onto Cadiz’s campaign when they make the short trip west on Sunday afternoon. Betis have 3 wins from 4 and have scored at least once in all their last 9 games in the league.  Granada somehow sneaked through to the next stage of the Europa League in mid-week but their league form is a cause for concern. They take on 19th placed Elche, and this could be the perfect time to earn some vital points.

The penultimate game of the weekend should be a classic, as Atletico Madrid, the league leaders, travel to Villarreal. The Yellow Submarine have drawn 10 of their last 15 games, whilst Diego Simeone’s men have found it hard going in recent weeks with just 1 win in their last five games in all competitions.  Real Madrid return to action on Monday – which could prove important for some of their players side lined due to injury. They’ve secured five wins in a row in all competitions and are once again the favourites as they welcome Real Sociedad to the Spanish capital.

Tom Beck is once again (but not for much longer) in the hot seat presenting Odds On. He’s joined by the fantastic Alvaro Romeo, a diligent and brilliant Spanish football expert. They’re here to discuss all things Spanish football.
