This is a podcast version of our YouTube video. We’re back for another Odds On: La Liga show, and this time it’s a preview of Matchday 9 of the 2020/21 campaign. We’ve got some enthralling action to preview and discuss across three days of action in the Primera Division, with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico all in action, as well as leaders Real Sociedad looking to continue their fine season start.   Barcelona will be looking to kick-stat their La Liga campaign when they host Real Betis at the Nou Camp on Saturday afternoon. Ronald Koeman couldn’t have imagined life in Catalonia could be this difficult. The Blaugrana have made their worst start to a season since Louis van Gaal in 2002 and are currently on a four-game winless run and sit 12th in the league standings. The last time Barca failed to win five La Liga games on the bounce came about in 2008. Then-manager Frank Rijkaard got the boot soon after.  Sevilla are also playing on Saturday. They entertain Osasuna. Last season’s Europa League winners are also struggling for form at the start of the year and languish down in 16th spot! Julen Lopetegui’s men have lost their last three games on the bounce and urgently could do with maximum points in order to get their game started.   Atletico Madrid round out Saturday’s La Liga action as they take on surprise package Cadiz at the Wanda. Diego Simeone’s men have been doing Diego Simeone things this season, conceding just two goals in their six league games. Cadiz meanwhile, who were promoted from the Segunda last season, are up in fifth position. Can they pull off another shock against a Madrista club?  And of course, league champions Real Madrid are away to Valencia on Sunday evening. Eden Hazard is expected to be back in first-team action after a lengthy spell on the sidelines, so all eyes will be on the Belgian attacker when they kick-off at the Mestalla.   Tom Beck takes on presenting duties this week in Eduardo’s absence.
