UEFA officials want the Nations League to be a flagship competition, and this week’s matches are certainly mouth-watering.  We’ve got some heavyweight battles this weekend, and some very decisive ties that could decide relegation or promotion. Let’s take a look who is in action in the Nations League’s matchday 6 fixtures.  Up first, it’s 2018 World Cup runners-up Croatia against Euro 2016 winners Portugal. These two have produced some terrific performances in recent years, and this is likely to be another exciting encounter. The World Champions are also in action, as Didier Deschamps’ France host Sweden in Paris.  At the same time on Tuesday, Spain – desperate for goals after several poor showings – will play Germany in Sevilla. This game could prove decisive in who will qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament from Nations League Group 4. The other tie to be played in that group will be between Ukraine and Switzerland.  Into Sunday’s action, and we’ve got further action to bring you. Whipping boys Bosnia-Herzegovina play host to four-time world champions Italy in Group 1. Elsewhere in the same group, the Netherlands travel to Poland. It’s going to be extremely tight when the full-time whistle blows at the business end of the table.  Finally, on Sunday, Roberto Martinez’s Belgium play Denmark and Gareth Southgate’s England round off the group stage action with their game against Iceland.
