We start in the capital with one of the fiercest derby’s in European football, as Lazio battle bitter rivals Roma at Stadio Olimpico. Of course, there will be no fans at the ground, but the faithful from both sides will expect blood and thunder from their players. Roma are up in third, whilst Lazio are beginning to find their form, with just one defeat in their last five.

Into Saturday, and we ease into action with Bologna at home to Verona, that one’s followed up with Spezia’s trip to Torino. The visitors have won their previous two matches to move clear of danger at the foot of the table, whilst the northerners are down in 18th place. The final game on Saturday is a game between two midtable sides, Sampdoria and Udinese.

We begin Sunday with a strong fixture to get us in the mood, as Napoli welcome Fiorentina to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. The Naples club are struggling for consistency, with two wins, a draw and two defeats in their last five. Fiorentina, meanwhile, have not hit their best form and currently lie 12th. The next game sees bottom club Crotone host fellow newly promoted club Benevento to a clash in the south of the country.

Up next, it’s Parma’s trip to Sassuolo. The iconic Serie A side are edging closer and closer to the drop zone, with just 12 points to their name. They’re on an awful run of form, with defeats in all of their previous five games. Later in the afternoon we’ll see Atalanta, back to their free scoring best, at home to Genoa in Bergamo.  We wrap up Saturday’s action with one of the best games across the whole of Europe. It’s the derby of Italy: Inter Milan vs Juventus. Inter are second in the table, three points behind rivals Milan, but have not won in two. Juve, meanwhile, are down in 4th and sit seven points behind Milan in top spot.

Matchday 18’s action concludes with the leaders Milan going on the road to Cagliari. They’ll know what their task is when they step foot on the team coach. Is this the season they finally stand atop the Calcio podium with the Scudetto in their hands? It may very well be.   Alongside our resident host Eduardo Siles is a man with all the info and all the stats. He’s the guy that brought you that 40.0 ACCA winner.
