from 2019-04-02T06:00:02
This week, we’ve got Jazmin from @plusequals on the OGB podcast. Plus Equals is a plus-size gender-neutral brand catering for sizes 14-42. Founded out of the frustration of fierce fashion for fatter femmes, Jazmin created Plus Equals with one mission and one mission alone - get shaking things up. This was definitely one of my favourite guest episodes to record and you’ll see why; Jazmin is an incredible person with an incredible story.
We talked about:
- Jazmin’s story from losing her mum at a young age, caring for her ill grandmother, from wanting to be a music producer to deciding to follow her passion and do Fashion Promotion at uni (all whilst being a carer).
- Finding purpose after grief and traumatising, life-changing moments.
- Changing the course of Plus Equals in the early days to ensure she was catering for those she wanted to cater for.
- Using her voice, the importance of representation and her relationship with the words ‘plus size’.
- Winning The Princes Trust National Enterprise Award and the impact the Trust has had on her life/business.
- Her daily practise with self-love and learning from the negatives.
