Bikes are great, but it's hard to pretend that all is right with the world currently. This week Selene sits down with her longtime friend Elizabeth Allen to ask her just how she got into this predominantly white sport and what the barriers are for others … her answers might surprise you. Allen is a youth and wellness activist, bike shop employee and avid cyclist. Aware that some folks might look at the bike right now and decide a hard ride or even an easy ride might not feel all that fulfilling right now, Patrick takes a look at some skills that can gives us the respite of being on a bike without the taxing effort of riding, skills that might even prove handy in a dicey situation.
