In conversation with the award winning voice actor and genius story teller of Indian Noir - Nikesh Murali for our first ever, remote interview!

Horror is about existential problems that we tackle with. Issues in our family, death, fears we have about work, parents, spouses and our worries when we hear something in society.

Why audio as a medium of story telling? The theatre of the mind of course!

The speed of technological change has forced creative and non-creative folks alike to constantly adapt and hone their craft and Nikesh is a great example of someone who's transitioned through mediums be it short stories, graphic novels, full length books and now audio dramas through Indian Noir.

Reflecting on his child-hood, Nikesh remembers being drawn towards movies like Evil Dead, The Exorcist and Texas Chain Saw Massacre at the tender age of 8 thanks in part due to his parents not filtering the content that he consumed.

To make his point about creating audio dramas and why this medium is different from the others, in the middle of the podcast, there is an special bonus episode of Fear FM which features the first ever Lovecraftian horror story written by an author of Indian origin!

"I have a good career and I can pay my bills out of it. What I wanted was to blend my unique storytelling abilities to showcase it to an audience who are looking for this kind of stories and to win their trust. It is so important to me that for this, I will prioritize my time." is what Nikesh had to say when asked about his Passion and how he balances it with work and a personal life.

If you are creative and you have a creative pursuit, that generally means that you are a very intelligent person. Some application of mind, identification  of a niche and a lot of hard work will go a long way in making you successful!
