Join Angela Lauria of the Author Incubator as she interviews David Patten, author of Dummy: A Memoir. Growing up in the 1950's, when David's conditions of dyslexia and high-functioning autism weren't well-known, David was viewed as a "dummy" by his teachers. It was after he lost his job and found himself reflecting on his life that he decided to to write in order to come to terms with his past, and the resultant search took three years and resulted in a 1,700 page memoir, which he subsequently trimmed down to 310 pages for his book.
