In today’s episode I was joined by Lauren, the MD of Grace Personnel, a local specialist recruitment agency based in Maidenhead.
I wanted to interview Lauren as soon as I heard about her story.
Most people I have interviewed have had similar founder stories of working for one agency and then leaving to set up their own. This is not how things have happened for Lauren.
She joined Grace Personnel as a trainee recruiter in 2012 after working through the business as a temp after Uni.
Over the next 4 years, she excelled in her job and moved into a leadership position.
However she did not expect what was about to happen next.
After the founder of the agency was tragically diagnosed with Leukemia, she was presented with an opportunity to take over the business with the backing of a Private Equity firm.
Such a huge decision at the age of 26 but one that Lauren decided to take with both hands.
I loved this episode as Lauren’s unique story will no doubt resonate with many recruiters who may want to be an owner of a Recruitment business but not necessarily through the traditional start up route.
