Athletic training and sports medicine play an essential role within college athletics. Student athletes rely on the experience and knowledge of their training team to prepare before during and after the season physically and mentally. Athletic trainers and physicians often work together to map out the best course of treatment needed for a team or individual and also blend their talents to team up with academic programs to help foster careers of aspiring sports medicine professionals. The integration creates an environment optimal for experiential learning. Tonight we will speak with four guests who all have many years of experience both in teaching and practicing athletic training and sports medicine. Brian Jones Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine at the University of Toledo will join me as my cohost. Brian has over 18 years of athletic training and sports medicine experience.
