32 - Talking #cancer - Why We Need To

According to the World Health Organization:

  1. 9.6 million people worldwide are estimated to die from cancer in 2018
  2. 30-50% of cancers could be prevented. You read that right! 30-50%! That's why we need to talk.

Today I'm talking about:

  • Why it's important to talk about cancer, even if it makes us uncomfortable
  • My experiences with my family and cancer
  • World Health Organization Statistics (found here; http://www.who.int/cancer/en/)
  • And MORE

Want to be part of the conversation? Please send YOUR questions about cancer so I can ask our experts for you and share them on a future episode. Send them to jen@jenhardy.net

According to the World Health Organization:

"According to current evidence, between 30% and 50% of cancer deaths could be prevented by modifying or avoiding key risk factors..."

"Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally and is estimated to account for 9.6 million death in 2018... breast, colorectal, lung, cervix and thyroid cancer are the most common among women."

What can you do? Get to know your body and pay attention to it. If something seems "off" tell your doctor. If she doesn't listen, find another one who will.
