The Tokyo Olympic Games have already been delayed once.

Now, eight weeks from the opening ceremony, opinion polls show most people in Japan want them scrapped altogether.

But the International Olympic Committee is barrelling forward, insisting the Games must go on.

So how can officials, athletes and their supporters have confidence they won't be a disaster?
