Many of us social workers work in non-profit agencies and some do not offer 401k's or 403B's.  We are taught in social work grad school about doing private practice but are not taught how to get things like health insurance for ourselves.  Alex Casella is a financial advisor in the state of Connecticut.  We discuss retirement plans, 401k, 403B plans, health health insurance for self-employed folks (especially those in private practice). For those who are parents, we discuss 529 plans and UTMA accounts.  We in the social work community need to be educated regarding our personal finances.

This episode was brought to you by Bas City Entertainment LLC your home for holistic online self care for social workers concentrating on poetry and virtual Zumba classes.  My poetry book, Triumph Through Pain: How to Maximize Your Full Potential During Down Times will be published in late February/Early March.
