23. Boundaries with ourselves & others (and in our lives in general) - a podcast by Lorena and Lucia

With the holiday season in full effect, we wanted to touch on the subject of boundaries. Boundaries are something that are important not only with ourselves, but also with family, friends, partners, work, projects, co-workers, etc...

Loving yourself is so important, because when we respect and keep ourselves in high regard we are able to put up necessarily boundaries for healthy and fulfilling relationships. Boundaries are a way of respecting ourselves and the people around us.

Boundaries with ourselves can look: being kind to ourselves, giving ourselves time to ground and connect, asking for what we need, voicing opinions, telling loved ones what doesn’t feel right and asking/demanding respect.

We talk about what boundaries have been like for each of us, we give examples of how we manage certain situations.

When we are able to look at ourselves, understand how we feel and what is “causing” certain friction or feelings, we can then take action with boundaries (if needed). It’s about self love and self respect and knowing what we need and what no longer serves us.

This holiday season we may find ourselves in a situation where we may need to listen to ourselves and speak up. Look at this as a way to grow and love ourselves more.
