SHOW NOTES

1.40min – Monday night’s NBL Melbourne United v Sydney Kings was an action packed game on and off the court.  Hutchy copped a spray from Casper Ware. Kings coach got evicted.

7.00 – Spring Racing.  Numbers were down. Discussion of perceived brand damage following ABC’s report on animal cruelty.

11.00 - Spin City. Hutchy is the guy who loaded the ATM that was mistakenly giving out $50 notes not $20 notes at Flemington.

17.00 - Media Watch delved into the issue of media coverage of Ashleigh Petrie’s relationship with magistrate Rod Higgins.

20.00 – Axing of the Marngrook Footy Show.

22.00 – Volatile week in media. Fascinating coverage of Macquarie Sports Radio winding down operations.  Perception was that the station was shutting down – that wasn’t correct.  Sports stations are hard.

28.00 - Trump cancels subscriptions to major newspapers for government offices because they’re too critical. What impact is Trump having on the journalistic lie? Is Trump normalising it?

33.00 - Question of the Week for Social Status from Billy Oldfield. Billy asks “With the Matildas now set to earn the same pay as the Socceroos, which national code will be next? Ash Barty putting a strong case together for equal Davis / Fed Cup pay”.

35.00 – The AFL Fixture. The leaking of elements of the fixture helped to extend the coverage. ‘Source Obligation’ – hard to decline to cover issues that have been leaked to you, you feel obligated.
