I remember the last time you kissed me. You were half awake when I crawled into bed. With eyes closed, you kissed me good night. Outside, the city breathed in and out like it does every night. I didn’t know what was happening at that time – didn’t know that was the last time you could ever do that. If I knew then what I know now, would I have kissed you with my eyes wide open?

The demons came back and they took me from you. Like the million times before, I say I’m sorry wondering if you ever will.
