They say each cell in the body is methodically replaced every seven years. If that were true then I’m hardly the same person anymore.
I once had eyes that could only see you and lips that could only kiss you. But they don’t move that way anymore. I have a heart that doesn’t beat the way it used to. They say you cannot hurt me anymore.
But between the e and d in I loved you, your memory still lingers. Seven years have passed. Not a cell in my body has touched you but every single one knows your name.
