Episode 146: Multitasking to Talk About Multitasking - a podcast by Natural Encounters, Inc.

from 2023-02-02T09:00

:: ::

What better way to demonstrate the challenges of multitasking than to record a podcast at 70mph? While pursuing different alternate routes to a meeting at the Ranch, Chris and Ari keep their eyes on the road while chatting about multitasking: digging into why it's a bad idea, why it's not even really tackling multiple tasks at once, findings that suggest that it could lead to long term cognitive and developmental problems, some alternatives that are safer, more efficient, and more effective, and the importance planning, reducing distractions, and blocking off dedicated time for focused tasks.

(Spoiler alert: we both made it to work safe, but Ari missed several exits and Chris was 40 minutes later than he thought he'd be. What more proof of the problems of multasking do you need??)
