from 2016-07-28T18:42:04
The LOT Network (a non-profit first launched by Google) is a group of high-profile tech and auto companies Patent Trolls.
2015 was the biggest year ever for patent trolls with nearly 80% of suits in tech, and LOT Network is one prong of a multi-prong defense for companies as varied as Red Hat, GitHub, Box, Lenovo, etc. With numbers like this - 3M to handle a patent troll suit (on average), 500% growth in patent troll activity in past 10 years, 80,000,000,000 per year in total on patent troll litigation - the issue is pervasive.
I invited Ken Seddon, CEO of LOT Network onto the show to learn more.
