Avery Stenstrom is an 18-year-old high school senior who began her writing journey at the age of 14 one summer day while spending time with family on vacation in West Virginia.
Avery's journey into writing came as she struggled to come to terms with her early childhood trauma and her struggles with her ADHD, Dyslexia, and anxiety. Heart of the Beast was created out of her pain, an escape from the chaos both internal and external. She vibrantly builds on her experience through sharing her struggles with each character representing the challenges between anger and joy, hatred and forgiveness, reluctance and determination.
Avery graduates from The Lab School of Washington in 2022 and is planning to enter Hofstra University in the coming fall. As she begins this next phase of her life, one thing is for certain, Avery sees the power of expression through word and/or art as the foundation to whatever journey unfolds before her.
