In this episode we look at the beloved Product Owner role. We discuss some of the challenges of being a Product Owner, especially in a larger organisation, some of the rewards, and some of the habits and skills that one needs to develop to become a good Product Owner.

We also discuss that a Product Owner:

  • Needs to feel empowered by the organisation to truly have ownership of their backlogs;
  • Is not building the thing for themselves, rather they’re building it for the customer;
  • Check in with their own biases, the Product Owner (in most cases) is not the customer;
  • Needs to learn how to say “no”, but make an offer in return.

And a lot more!
