The global pandemic of COVID-19 hanging over us all made this a tricky subject to tackle. Many people are leaving their jobs right now not out of choice, but due to furlough. But, when should you actually think about moving on?

In this episode we talk about some of the signs that might mean it's time for you to move onto your next agile adventure. Many people tend to "sit" in their jobs even though they might have completely outgrown them, or even though their expertise is no longer respected. It's easy to do this, why would you ever bother to leave if you have a steady paycheque coming in that's putting food on your plate and paying off your mortgage?

But, as we discuss, this is not necessarily a healthy perspective. The benefits of moving onto a new role can far outweigh that awful feeling of being stuck in in your current one. Sam opens up about his recent experience of leaving a job that was long overdue and some of the feelings he experienced that indicated to him that enough was enough.

"Your job is not necessarily your work" (a clever person said this).

We discuss some of the issues around mental health and the feeling of being trapped in a job that you no longer enjoy. We also briefly discuss an incredibly useful tool called Ikigai, find out more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ikigai (check the references and external links sections too)
