Often technological progress is afefected by politics, and the U.S.-China trade war could start affecting the globalization of the Internet. Recently Boston Consulting Group, the venture capitalist group Sinovation Ventures, and several other experts have warned that if tensions between the two world powers continues to rise, it could escalate into a "splinternet", where one side of the world supports a web that runs only Chinese and China-backed apps, and U.S. made and U.S.-supported apps on the other. In this episode you will hear my thoughts on this, additional sources to find more information such as CNBC, and possible solutions I believe could be used as a workaround to this fragmentation of the Internet.
