:: ::

Biography: Anne-Maria is a retired chemical engineer who worked for the Ontario Ministry of the Environment for nearly four decades. Born and raised in a small forestry community in Finland, she immigrated to Canada with her family in 1976 and over the course of a nearly 37-year career was able to secure a sizeable and healthy retirement fund through her pension and careful spending. In this episode, Anne-Maria discusses the benefit of the ministry’s defined pension plan, how she ended up overstretching herself in the early days of her retirement, and why she thinks younger people don’t look toward their future financial security as much as older generations.
