It's Christmas Eve. And while Santa is making his way around the world to all the little boys & girls, this man-child is just wrapping up Episode 29 of The Yoga Life Podcast.

I'm not here to preach, I don’t have all the answers. I’m just sharing what happened to me in 2018, what I learnt and hopefully it resonates with you and you find value in it.

I take you through all noteworthy events in every month of the year and not all of them are 'highlights'.

Overview:

January - Starting teaching a new class in Elbowroom, cool as I did my 200 hour there, started teaching more workshops.

February - Trip to India. From the polluted metropolis of Kolkata to the pristine beach of Goa.

March - Recording the first episode (Episode 0!) of TYLP & my Bryce 300 Teacher Training starts (Episode 1)

April - Started climbing, training at 10th PLanet Jiu Jitsu & was told that I’d be teaching at Wellfest.

May - Sunny Days were here, down at the Pheonix park, sea swimming with the Happy Pear and TYLP officially launched. Taught yoga in Park with Happenings for the first time & taught at Wellfest.

June - A month I’d rather forget as I broke up with my girlfriend (well, she broke up with me, more accurately!) But all was not lost in June. At the end of the month, I started my Yin 50hr TT with Josh Summers. Couldn’t of come at a better time as I needed to heal. I became more reflective and compassionate, started thinking about how yoga could be a vehicle to heal others. I posted on IG about my intention to start workshops for men in aid of suicide prevention.

July - Bounced back and got on the mat... the Jiu-Jitsu mat.

August - Started my Bryce 300 TT Part 2 (the second half of the 300 hours). Listen to Episode 12 for all deets.

September - Shot a mini-movie about my yoga journey. It was a bit awkward, to be honest as I was, essentially, 'acting'. The short film should be out early 2019, so check my highlights on IG if you’re listening from the future.

October - Hosted my first Yoga For Men workshop with Lululemon and started teaching at Samadhi. Had my first ever student walk out (not at Samadhi!), visited an Eco Village on the October bank holiday weekend. Loneliness has been a issue for me in recent years, I felt and sometimes do feel a lack of community in my Dublin suburb. The Eco-Village was incredible but the biggest question is: how would I make a living if I lived there? The answer is: I wouldn’t or I could but it would involve commuting to Dublin every day 2 hours each way. So that was, is, and will likely stay, a deal breaker.

November - Shadowed/taught at Samadhi TT and went to London to the Max Strom Calibrated Man workshop.

December - Hosted my second Yoga For Men workshop and smashed the fund raising goal of €500, which goes directly to pay for suicide prevention councillors/therapists in Ireland. This is a direction I want to explore....
