This week, on Thinkin’ and Drinkin’ Bart talks with Jamie Rowe about his love for rock and roll that developed at an early age. Jamie saw his first concert at the age of 10 and faked being sick in the third grade to stay home and listen to Aerosmith. Jamie retells his story of recording an a cappella tape to audition for the role of Guardian’s lead singer. He also recalls meeting Gene Simmons from his favorite band, KISS, for a business meeting while he was still in full makeup.

In this episode, you’ll hear

  • Bart & Jamie discuss Jamie’s all-time favorite band, KISS, and the conversation he had with Gene Simmons who wanted to work with him as a solo act, but he was too old.
  • The label that Jamie’s band, Guardian was signed to is called Pakaderm, which was run by John & Dino Elefante.  John Elefante used to be in the band Kansas and Jamie used to sing songs from Kansas in his cover bands.
