This week on Thinkin’ and Drinkin’ Bart talks with singer and songwriter, Tina Parol! Tina started writing songs at the young age of 11 and got her first publishing deal at 16. In her first year of college at NYU she received a record deal with Motown! Tina now works with sync, short for synchronization, which is making records to be put into shows or movies.

In this episode, you’ll hear

  • Tina’s first band was called Tina Parole & the Convicts, which she added the ‘e’ to her last name so it would make more sense for the convicts.
  • (at 34 mins in) Tina’s first concert was Tina Turner, who she was named after.
  • (5 mins in) She got her first record deal with Motown when she was 19.
