ONLY ON LOAN: a reminder...not yours for keeps! by Maggie M. ScottThe priority of parents is to raise children in a manner that will direct them to become men and women who represent God and His purpose, that they become living examples of Jesus in a lost world. The unexpected death of this author’s son gave rise to so much more than his demise. Now, she must realize that he was ”Only on Loan.” From the very beginning, life with this loved one would be brief, with no regard to how long it might be chronologically. God teaches us in Psalms 90:12 “… to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” He reminds us that those passing through our lives are not ours for keeps, but Only on Loan. We are each borrowed from the earth and responsible to care and develop one another to be instruments for God’s use. She describes the grief she endured over the passing of loved ones.The eldest of seven, born and raised in Mississippi until the age of 10. My elementary education through, graduating from Gardena High School, Gardena, CA.My first work opportunity following graduation placed me on a lifelong path to learning much of what I would need to be successful the rest of my life.Other jobs and career opportunities led me to what remains a passion and love of my life, Writing, Notes, and Letters, on many subjects.In the mix of many opportunities, during several years of employment at City of Hope Medical Center, I became interested in health care and was fortunate to gain positions and experience that would lead me to higher education. ? ART Degree from (AHIMA) American Health Information Management Association ? Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Management at The University of La Verne, in La Verne, CA ? MPH, Master of Public Health Degree at The University of Loma Linda, Loma Linda, CA ? Adjunct Faculty for Community Colleges ? Workshops and Seminar Group LeaderMarriage at age 18, a happy and contented union that lasted 56 and one-half years; until death did we part. To this union: two daughters, three sons, 13 grandchildren, and 13 great– grandchildren and counting,At the age of 82, I am retired and continue to work on my third book, “Yes!
