Lo and Behold: A Christmas Story by Sally Breeze Green

Lo and Behold came into being as the result of being awakened during the night and feeling nudged by the Holy Spirit to write down what came to me. The story simply wrote itself as it flowed out of my pen, and I was amazed at the result!

The name came from my father-in-law, telling me with tongue in cheek Lo and Behold were the two most famous angels in Scripture since it was written many times: "Lo, the angel of the Lord" and "Behold, the angel of the Lord."

I dedicate this book in his memory and in honor of my grandchildren.

Sally Breeze Green holds a Certificate in Spiritual Formation from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA. She has served most of her adult life working in the local church setting in various capacities. She has served as a ruling elder for several tours of service at First Presbyterian Church in Midland, Texas, in the area of prayer ministry, which is her first love. She retired from eldership in mid-2019 to care for her husband in his ill health.

She has devoted much time since then to writing, which is her second love - from past church newspaper articles over many years to authoring her own spiritual journey, In Search of Grace; a study guide on prayer, In Quest of Prayer; and several studies about the Christian life. Her most recent effort was Clef Notes, a self published gathering of encouraging letters written to the Sanctuary Choir during her tenure as choir chaplain for twelve years.

Lo and Behold was adapted as a musical and presented in her home church in 1993 (before publication) and updated for presentation at Christmas in 2020.

She and her husband were engaged in their petroleum engineering firm for over forty years until their retirement in 2019. They shared nearly 65 years of marriage together this December but sadly, he passed away in June of this year. She remains devoted to her two sons and spouses, five grandchildren and spouses, and two great-grandchildren. No longer able to sing with the Sanctuary Choir (member since 1979), she upholds them from the congregational pew!
