The Song of My Hope:  How You Can Travel from Despair to Hope While Raising Your Special Needs Kids by Betsy Kay Ridgway

Take Comfort in Hope on Your Parenting Journey. After eight and a half years of infertility and an excruciating wait for adoption, Russ and Betsy Ridgway received 24 hours-notice that they were going to be parents. But when baby Sean was just eight months old, the unthinkable happened – he was diagnosed with a brain tumor that left him with complex special needs.

Still reeling from the rollercoaster of cancer treatment, Betsy found herself on a lonely road she never imagined she would have to walk. Arguing with God on her knees each night, exhaustion finally smothered the anger – and grace took its place.

In The Song of My Hope, Betsy shares her educational experience and parenting expertise to help parents and caregivers of special needs children:

· Find resilience in the face of exhaustion and heartbreak,

· Develop a sense of unshakeable peace and calm,

· Strengthen the bonds of marriage to weather the storm,

· Open-up to greater gratitude and joy through the words of Scripture,

· Discover a sense of purpose in the struggles.

By cultivating hope, you can find strength, encouragement, and a brighter outlook, even in the face of adversity! While using My Hope Journal, either in a group or as a personal devotional, you will find deeper faith, hope, and joy! It will deepen your friendships and bring you closer to God

Betsy Kay Ridgway, as a Special Needs Family Advocate, has been able to share her knowledge and experiences as a mom of two special needs boys, with the support of her husband, Russ. She loved teaching high school students with learning disabilities and later, working as a Special Education Advocate, to help parents understand what accommodations their children might need to be successful in school. Her website was created to inspire and educate parents and caregivers of special needs children. Her website can be found at SparklingHope.net. Betsy now takes great delight in sharing her personal story so you can find lasting hope!
