Despite the fall of the Soviet Union decades ago, it would be a mistake to dismiss Russia as a major threat to the US. From Russian disinformation campaigns dating back to the Stalin years though those stemming off of the Russian Collusion Hoax of 2016, Russian leaders have been working stealthily to take down America. These days, with social media and easy access to the minds of millions, Russian leaders do not need to rely on a friendly New York Times reporter to do publicity for them as Stalin had with Walter Duranty.

Former CIA Director Jim Woolsey talks about this with London Center for Policy Research President LTC (Ret) Tony Shaffer on this edition of Thought to Action, presented by the London Center, with a focus on Operation Dragon, a campaign involving the KGB as a means to keep the focus of the murder - executed by Lee Harvey Oswald - away from where the real evidence points: toward the man who ordered it, then- Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev

Russian propaganda sowed and nurtured contempt for the US, and its operations have morphed into many forms, including the recruitment of global terror groups and the backing of enemy nation- states.Still, as Woolsey explains in his book, OPERATION DRAGON: INSIDE THE KREMLIN'S SECRET WAR ON AMERICA, it was the JFK assassination with its explosive aftermath of false conspiracy theories, that set the model for blaming America first -- a sentiment which has gathered strength into today.
