from 2021-01-04T04:00:51
Happy New Year! After a Christmas break and some slight technical hitches (Verity couldn’t remember her Macbook password) we are back with a fantastic guest to kick off 2021...It’s musician, concert producer, violinist, vocalist and advisor and educator on musical and theatrical projects, Lizzie Ball.
Lizzie chats to Seb and Verity about theClassical Kicksconcert series she curates, their residency at Ronnie Scott’s (which brings together a hugely diverse range of genres) and how she wooed a bagpipe player in Edinburgh to come to London and play Metallica. No mean feat!
They discuss Lizzie’s work with her childhood hero, Nigel Kennedy and what an impact he has had on her career. Verity tries to draw to mind an incident involving Nigel and Gordon The Gopher onGoing Live.....anyone else remember this?
Lizzie talks about touring with Jeff Beck, coping with the pressures of leading the live recording of Liam Gallagher’s MTV Unplugged album andCorrido, her immersive piece based on the life and times of Frieda Kahlo. Somehow, alongside all of this, Lizzie has recently qualified as a life coach and tells Seb and Verity about her passion to combine this with her performing and production work. Phew, she really does do it all!
