This week Seb and Verity venture into the Bedfordshire countryside to meet virtuoso percussionist Joby Burgess.

Joby is embarking on a UK tour at the end of September performing his new albumA Percussionist’s Songbook -a collection of specially commissioned songs by eight composers, including Graham Fitkin, Dobrinka Tabakova, Gabriel Prokofiev and Joby himself!

The conversation takes place in Joby’s home studio which in a former life was both a coach house and a hairdresser - conversation ranges from where they are going on holiday this year to whether it’ll be a full head of highlights or a half…only kidding!

Joby discusses how the balance of his career has shifted over the last few years with a much greater emphasis on recording. With this in mind, he chats about the prospect of returning to live performances with a mixture of excitement and trepidation.
