Former Boise State tight end Connor Peters felt like a failure when he didn’t make it to the NFL.
Like many elite athletes, Connor didn’t have a clear vision for his life after sports.
Having no outlet to express the intense drive that he developed as an athlete, Connor found himself deeply unfulfilled in his first job after college.
He thought to himself:
“It doesn’t really matter what I do for a living now, I’ve already failed to reach my ultimate goal of playing at the next level.”
In this interview, Connor and I discuss our time working together, and how he’s been able to rediscover his ability to create his desired outcome in all aspects of life.
Including finding a fulfilling career.
Connor’s advice to former athletes is:
Don’t be ashamed of the feelings of uncertainty, frustration, or disappointment that happen after sports.
Definitely don’t be afraid to ask for guidance. If you want help, you’re going to have to risk being vulnerable.
